Community Service

At ASB, we partner with parents to provide an excellent education rooted in Catholic values and social justice teachings. Serving as the Catholic parish school for Assumption and St. Bridget parishes, our commitment to service is a defining feature of our culture.

Service Learning

School Wide
The ASB community supports the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry each month by collecting donations.  It is a fun way for students to participate in a friendly completion for a wonderful cause. During the winter students participate in a Sock and Glove Drive for the Seattle Winter Shelter and are challenged to make their own monetary donations during Lent through The Rice Bowls Program.  In the spring, the Student Leadership Team leads the Pennies for Patients Drive benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of ASB Alumni Henry Strueli class of 2015.

Elementary
Students learn through first hand experience the act of service. In the fall, our 1st grade students lead our annual Breakfast Cereal Drive Food Drive. Third grade spends a month on completing a "kindness challenge." Our 4th grade students bake pies for Thanksgiving for the Blessed Sacrament Food Bank.

Middle School
Middle school students participate in a three year Missionary Discipleship program in which classroom learning is applied through action that addresses an authentic community need and provides structured time for reflection on the service experience and demonstration of acquired skills and knowledge.  Upon graduation, students acquire the skills and motivation necessary to live as a person for others.
