Extended Care

Our main goal at Extended Care is that your child feels welcome, safe and nurtured. Based in the Assumption Gym and the Performing Arts Center, we provide a wide variety of fun activities. The number one priority of our program is the safety of our students.  Our program serves as an extension to the school day, that allows our parents the flexibility of safe, affordable childcare, before and after the regular school hours. We aim to maintain open and ongoing communications with the parents of all our students and are always interested in your suggestions and concerns.

Mornings: 7– 8:30 am

Afternoons:  Monday 2– 5:45 pm, Tues – Fri 3– 5:45 pm

We provide snack daily for each child at approximately 3:15pm (2:15pm on Mondays).  Supervised study hall is available to students in grades 2nd-8th.  The typical time allotment is 30 minutes however, staff members have the discretion to allow students to remain in study hall and continue to work as long as they remain focused and productive.  When a student finishes their homework for that day, they may check in with a staff member and join the regular Extended Care environment.

Rates and Billing

For the 2021-2022 School year the Extended Care program is moving to an hourly, pay as you go format.  The hourly rate for Extended Care will be $10.00 an hour, and all billing will be managed through Incidental Billing in FACTS.

Camp ASB: August 2nd - 20th

Camp ASB offers summer childcare and activities to our current and incoming K-8th families.  Camp ASB will be on the main campus at the Assumption Gym and PAC from August 2nd - 20th.  The hours are 8:00AM - 4:00PM.  Space is limited.  For more information and registration please see the form below.

Kinder Camp is a program that was originally started by now Principal Kathleen Conklin over 20 years ago. Kinder Camp is a program that allows our incoming kindergarten students a sneak peek at their new school, incorporating a mixture of curriculum, play, daily routine and the opportunity to meet ASB teachers in the kindergarten classrooms. Each of these components prepare the new kindergarten students not just for kindergarten, but kindergarten at ASB School. With special appearances by the ASB kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Conklin, Mr. Dougherty and other ASB staff, this camp is going to be a great opportunity for our new kindergarten class.

Session 1 - June 21-25: Once Upon a Time...

We will read, tell, create, illustrate, and act out stories. Each day a new story sets the stage for fun activities and investigations that spark campers’ curiosity and creativity. Experimenting with light and shadow, exploring nature, and dramatic play are integrated with children’s literature, as well as with math, art, and drama.

Session 2 - August 16-20: Construction Junction

Experiment with using various types of natural and man-made materials to create your own structures and inventions. How tall of a tower can you erect out of straws, or blocks, or cardboard boxes? How would you design and build your very own dream house? Language and art will be used in creating plans for construction. Physics and geometry will be explored as we use mathematical shapes and concepts to identify the science behind building.
