Kathleen Conklin '95

Kathleen Conklin is the Assumption-St. Bridget principal. She came to ASB in 2008 as a first grade teacher. After teaching first grade for eight years, she moved to middle school in the fall of 2016 and started the middle school Reinventing Achievement & Development (RAD) support program. She has been principal since the fall of 2017.
 
Kathleen is an ASB alum, graduating class of 1995.  She attended Seattle Prep high school, then Gonzaga University where she received a BA in English and her elementary teaching certification. Kathleen has a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on literacy, as well as professional teacher certification and principal certification from Seattle Pacific University.  She is past president of the WA State Board for the International Dyslexia Association, past Chair of the Slingerland Institute for Literacy Faculty Senate, and has presented nationally for IDA.
 
Kathleen's father was principal of ASB for nineteen years.  In his words, Kathleen is here because education is "a science, an art, a mission, a ministry, an act of hope, an act of love, and an opportunity to change lives and the world."
