Julie Olsen

Ms. Olsen is an MFA graduate of the University of Washington School of Drama’s Professional Actor Training program, a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Oberlin College, a Washington State certified Teaching Artist and an Executive Board member of Washington State Thespians. She has taught Drama at ASB since 2015. Ms. Olsen chairs the Washington State Junior Thespian Conference and has taught performance skills in a wide variety of settings, including the University of Washington Summer Youth Program, Hawaii Pacific University, and at the annual Washington State Thespian Festival. Ms. Olsen’s theatre curriculum was selected by the National Educational Theatre Association for its “high-quality examples of skill in setting instructional objectives, designing coherent instruction, and designing student assessment.”  Her work is included in the National Educational Theatre Associations’ library of professional development resources, which illustrates best practices for theatre educators.
