ASB boasts four incredible instrumental groups for students in grades 4-8. Here at ASB, there’s a place for musicians of all levels.
This ensemble is for the students that are new to instrumental music. Most of the ensemble is comprised of 4th graders however it is open to any beginner! If you want to learn the clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet, baritone, or percussion, then this is your band! Typically, Beginning Band meets 1-2 times/week after school.
This group is the “musical hub” of the entire program. Concert Band is for students that completed Beginning Band or were placed into the group via an individual assessment. This ensemble focuses on performing traditional concert band literature, new popular songs, Christmas music and much more. The Concert Band is mainly focused on developing individual musicianship skills and technique. Typically, Concert Band meets 1-2 times/week before school.
This new instrumental ensemble combines two of the most popular groups at ASB – Jazz Band and Drumline. These musicians come together to form one high energy spirit ensemble, focused on pop, rock, and jazz hits for assemblies and school ceelbrations. If you want to provide ASB with some spirit, this is the ensemble for you! Musicians interested in participating in Street Band should speak with Mr. Van Pelt. Typically, Street Band meets once/week before school.
The Wind Ensemble is a service group, aimed at providing music in a liturgical setting. This group learns music very quickly, making music literacy skills a high priority. If you want to serve the ASB community in this way and highlight your musical skills, this is the ensemble for you! Rehearsal schedules vary based on upcoming performances.
Band Registration Forms are posted outside the music room, and will be linked here each Fall.
