Why I Became An Educator
My love of teaching began in high school as a youth volleyball coach. I really enjoyed watching my players evolve in their skills, physical abilities, knowledge, and character from season to season, and I knew that I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to play a similar role in the development of children. I love being a School Counselor because, just like coaching volleyball, I focus on the attainment of essential skills and knowledge for each child, while also nurturing the evolution of personal integrity and character. I recently completed my certification and licensure in the area of School Psychology to ensure that my services at ASB can comprehensively and effectively support the development of each student at ASB in the areas of academics, personal, social/emotional, and behavior. I now bring additional expertise in the areas of learning, identification of disabilities, and research-based interventions for a variety of development concerns.
What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.
