Rachel Zolotusky

Rachel Zolotusky first joined the ASB community in 2016. While at ASB, Rachel has had many roles; she is currently the 2B lead teacher. Rachel grew up in Seattle, not far from ASB, before moving away for college. She graduated from Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) with a BA in Elementary Education, and concentrations in Social Studies and Fine Arts. She received her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California and has been trained in the Slingerland Approach to literacy.

While in Mississippi, Rachel had the opportunity to work with an array of students and educators ranging from first through fifth grade in the greater Mississippi Delta area. Her experiences there profoundly shaped her approach to teaching. Rachel aspires to create student-centered learning environments in which the student is in the driving seat of their own learning. She works to build a strong classroom community where students feel empowered, valued, and can come together as a class to work towards the common goal of learning. Rachel teaches at ASB because of the strong community of teachers, staff, and families, who work closely together to prepare our students for the future.
