Christina Dougherty

Christina Dougherty is the K-5 Learning Specialist.  She came to ASB in 2008 as a third grade teacher.  After teaching 2nd and 3rd grade for 8 years, she moved to the role of K-5 Learning Specialist.  In this role, she organizes and runs small pull-out groups of students to provide intensive support with reading skills.   Additionally, she provides push-in support to classrooms to facilitate teacher differentiation of instruction to better meet the needs of our diverse learners.   
 
Christina graduated from St. John School, Bishop Blanchet high school, then Western Washington University where she received her BA in English and her elementary teaching certificate. Christina received her professional teacher certification from Seattle University, and her MA Ed. and Reading Endorsement from Antioch University. Christina has been trained in all three years of the Slingerland Approach.
 
Christina teaches at ASB because of the strong community.  Each member works together to help prepare our students for the future.
