Principal’s Welcome

Dear Students, Families, Alumni, Friends, Neighbors, and Guests of Assumption-St. Bridget School,

Welcome to Assumption-St. Bridget School! In 1947, our school’s doors opened and the Dominican Sisters led the charge in building our Catholic identity, academic excellence, and the value of community. Over seventy years later, we are fortunate to be able to uphold and strengthen those foundations. Due to the commitment and outstanding work of our professional, highly-effective faculty and staff, the dedicated partnership and service of our families, the continued support of our pastors and parishes, and the relationships with our alumni, neighbors, and community, ASB continues to graduate students who are inspired to learn, called to serve, and prepared to lead.

ASB is a two-parish school, serving the communities of both Assumption and St. Bridget parishes. Our school families come from many areas of Seattle, each bringing unique gifts and experiences that strengthen our community. You are most welcome here!

At ASB, students engage in a variety of programming to best prepare them for high school and beyond. Our rigorous academic curriculum and commitment to ongoing professional development provides our students a solid foundation as well as the ability to think critically as competent and confident learners. Our arts program, including drama, music, and visual art, develops creativity and challenges students to push themselves in their artistic ventures. Through our physical education, integrated technology, self-regulation, and missionary discipleship curriculums, our students receive a breadth of experience as well as learning how to be respectful and contributing members of a global community.

Students at ASB are expected to embrace a growth mindset, apply grit and resilience, and embrace opportunity for innovation, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. These skills will allow them to develop into the leaders and problem-solvers our world needs each day.

Our graduates leave self-directed learners, effective communicators, and highly prepared to continue their academic, spiritual, and moral growth as they move on to new challenges and experiences. We are so very proud of our alumni. Their success stories continually renew our faith in our mission and purpose.

Community is central to who we are at ASB. The partnership between faculty, staff, parents, families, alumni and community members creates a vibrant, dynamic, and supportive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. I invite you to come visit our wonderful school in Northeast Seattle and meet us, talk with us, and join us in celebrating our Catholic education!

All my best,

Kathleen Conklin ’95
