ASB Extended Care

Our main goal for Extended Care is that your child feels welcome and safe. We are here to provide a wide variety of activities that are a lot of fun. We are always interested in your suggestions and concerns. We look forward to being with your children and creating a warm, nurturing environment.

Hours: We are open daily from 7:00 - 8:30 AM, and afternoons from 2:00 - 5:45 PM on Monday, and 3:00 - 5:45 PM Tuesday through Friday. (5:45 - 6:00 PM is our flexible time. Extended Care is closed at 6:00pm.) If school is let out early, we will begin Extended Care at that time.

Locations: We base all our activities in the FAFC and the gym. During certain times of the year, (i.e. ASB Auction and school plays) we will communicate through signs, notes, and the school newsletter as to where we will be located.

Registration: Please complete the registration form attached to this letter. Our program is open for students in grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. There is a $55.00 registration fee (per family) used for snacks and supplies. Be sure to fill in the emergency form so we have one on file in the Extended Care office.

Study Hall: We offer study hall for Extended Care students in grades 2^nd - 6^th. It is supervised by an Ext. Care staff member who is available to assist with their homework, as needed.

Please Note: Study Hall runs for 30 minutes and students stay for the entire session. Please

send a book with your child to read if they finish their homework early.

Signing in: Each morning you will need to sign your child in at the FAFC and make contact with a staff member. After school, the students and staff meet at the fence in the southwest corner of the playground and walk to the FAFC together where they will be signed-in by a staff member.

Signing out: Each afternoon, please come to the FAFC and sign your child out. The book will be on the table by the door. Please mark the time, and total your hours. We round off the hours to the nearest quarter hour. A signature is required of the person picking-up your child. That person must be listed on the registration form as an individual who is authorized to pick-up your child. You may add names as needed, send in notes, or use the Parent Log Book for special arrangements (please see special Coaches information below). Please make contact with a staff person when you take your child. You will be charged a late fee of $1.00 per minute after 6:00pm. It is your responsibility to have someone here by 6:00 to pick-up your child(ren). If you are late repeatedly, it will result in your child(ren) not being able to attend our program.

**NOTE** Please discuss pick-up times in advance with your child. Play dates need to be scheduled prior to coming to Extended Care. This helps us with our scheduling and staffing purposes. We appreciate your assistance in this area.

Coaches Sign-out: If your child will be participating in CYO sports during Extended Care hours, and will need to be released to a coach, please see a staff member to receive the proper release form. Written permission from the parent must be on file with Extended Care, prior to a practice/game, in order for your child to be signed-out by their coach.

Billing: The Extended Care fee is $4.00 per hour, per child. At the end of each month a statement will be sent home in the Wednesday envelope. Please make checks payable to ASB and mark as Extended Care, and send it back to the main office. Let Chris Axelson know if you need a receipt. Scholarships are available by contacting Chris Axelson.

Parking: Please adhere to the school's parking plan when picking up and dropping off your child. (Back in parking only by the gym/FAFC.)

Snack: We provide snack daily for each child at approximately 3:15pm. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions on the registration sheet.

Remember, if there is no school, there is no Extended Care. This includes snow days and holidays. We will open during conferences and other school related closures. Check the school newsletter for dates and times. Please contact us and let us know if your child needs to attend on one of these days.
